Meet the Runners - Lloyd

There’s less than 3 weeks to go until the big race for our #TeamCartrefi Cardiff Half Marathon runners. During the build up to race day, we’ve been highlighting some of their stories and why they have chosen to run for Cartrefi.

This week, meet Lloyd, who was inspired to run the Cardiff half by his brother, Ben:

“I decided to run the Cardiff half marathon in October raising money for Cartrefi Cymru who provide activity groups at my local rugby club Kenfig Hill RFC for adults with learning difficulties.

These groups are accessed by many people in the local area including my brother, Ben.

Ben absolutely loves attending the groups and having the opportunity to socialise with his friends and I love being his taxi driver when my parents can’t, so he doesn't miss out.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed training for the Cardiff Half Marathon and have done a few 10k races in preparation too.”

Thank you, Lloyd, for all your fundraising and training efforts, we can’t wait to see you at the finish line!

By running for Cartrefi, Lloyd and his fellow runners will be supporting people with learning disabilities and autism across Wales live more fulfilled, independent lives within their communities.

Our work provides person centred support, promoting independence, choice, and equality so that people can live the lives they want. All the money raised from the Cardiff half will go directly to our communities across Wales, supporting vital Community Hubs and activities.
