The countdown to the Cardiff Half is almost over! Throughout this month, we’ve been highlighting the stories of some of our #TeamCartrefi runners who are taking part in the race and raising funds along the way.
This week, meet Megan! Megan is part of our Cartrefi community, and we are all incredibly proud of her for rising to this challenge.
On race day, Megan will be joined by her dad Anthony, who will be running alongside her to provide support every step of the way.
At Cartrefi, we’ve all been eager to show our support for Megan, particularly the local cooperative forums in Swansea and Bridgend, where they have been helping raise funds through donating and taking part in Zumba sessions.
Megan has raised £315 so far, well exceeding the target of £250!
In this penultimate week of training, Megan joined fellow runners and Cartrefi colleagues Kirstie and Alys in Brecon, along with Claire Dyer and her support team - who ran the half last year - for a 5km run.
This was a great opportunity to share training tips, inspire each other, and get together to enjoy the benefits of running, before the big day.
Thank you, Megan for choosing to run for #TeamCartrefi, we’ll be cheering you on from start to finish!
By running for Cartrefi, Megan and her fellow runners will be supporting people with learning disabilities and autism across Wales live more fulfilled, independent lives within their communities.
Our work provides person-centred support that champions independence, choice, and equality - helping people live the lives they choose. Every pound raised from the Cardiff Half will go straight back into communities across Wales, funding vital hubs and activities.
