The people we support and our colleagues went the extra mile in Swansea last Friday, baking a delicious selection of cakes to sell and raise funds for Service Manager Emma Jenkins' London Marathon.
Emma will be running the London Marathon this month to raise money for Ty Hafan, a children’s hospice charity in Wales. To show their support, the group at the Social Bean decided to help Emma with her fundraising efforts by holding a community cake sale.

Emma is an avid runner and has previously supported people from Cartrefi to run races!
There was an amazing selection of cakes on offer, from decadent cheesecakes to classic sponges, cupcakes, banana bread and even jam tarts. Each slice cost £1, and a queue quickly built up with everyone eager to grab a piece.
Claire Dyer, who helped organise the bake sale and baked 3 cakes of her own, was on hand with her support team to serve up the slices and take payment for them, making sure everyone was catered to.
The bake sale was a roaring success. All who attended had a great time, getting together to have a chat over a slice of cake and cup of tea and the sale raised over £50!

The cakes went down a treat and were enjoyed by all!
In a speech, Emma said:
“Thank you all for coming to support me, I really do appreciate it. Ty Hafan is a charity really close to my heart, so it is great to be able to raise money for them and have your support along the way”.
We wish Emma the best of luck in the London Marathon and hope she knows everyone from Cartrefi will be cheering her on at home!
